mareband

I welcome the reader to our Spanish Arabian horse site. What we want to do here, is to show you our breeding pedigrees, and photos of our stock to illustrate the results of our “Straight Spanish Arabian” line breeding.

You will also see what stock we have, and what stock are for sale Also what mares are in foal, and to which stallion. All our horses, even those bred in Spain are totally Piroplasmosis free.

We have a mare by the Spanish National Champion, and U.K. National Champion, Borneo.  It is worth noting that Borneo came first in his class at the U.K. National Championship in Malvern, no less than three times in consecutive years. He has been to World Championship at the Salon du Cheval in Paris and I believe came in the top three.

El Perfecto .  El Perfecto was first used by us in 2000. We inseminated Estepa and had our first foal in 2002, a colt called Estel-P. We had another filly foal in 2005, and Estepa again had a colt Estel-O by El Perfecto, in May 2006. Estepa achieved word champion status as a 3 year old in Paris. Estepa is double Tabal and crosses well to El Perfecto, who I feel is a Procyon / Barich de Washoe stallion, or one could say, has a lot of Maquillo and Malvito in his pedigree.

The temperament is a very important characteristic of the Spanish Arabian. We all think as humans, we know each other after a reasonable period of time. The ability of the horse to think for itself, to prioritise working with his master under stress and not to panic even in extraordinary circumstances, only time will demostrate.

Spanish horses are able to look after, and think for themselves a lot. It is reasonable to say that they are calmer on your nerves and time than some horses that are more impetuous. The Spanish horse is probably one of the best all-round riding and sport horses in the World. They are a good investment.

Also, they tend to be prepotant. It is often said that the Straight Spanish military horse emanates from a small genetic pool The pedigree largely consists of look-a-like grand and great grand parents who are inclined to breed true to their line. They tend to be tall, slim, very smooth bodied, beautiful eyes, large jowled, dramatic looking horses.
